About
Many of us have experienced abuse and other traumatic events throughout our lives that are out of our control, and never our fault, but often lead us to feel powerless and unworthy. I believe that all people deserve to be safe, happy, and healthy, and therapy can provide the opportunity to recognize the power one has over their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. My goal is to offer nonjudgmental and unconditional support, as we explore the difficulties that have presented in your life. Whether you have been on a healing journey for years or just beginning, therapy is one of the many courageous steps in the healing process. I aim to help clients learn that we all display courage, strength, and resilience every day of our lives, in various ways. I focus on the inner strengths of every person I work with because at the end of the day we all know ourselves better than anyone else.
Qualifications and Approach:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of New Jersey experienced in working with survivors of interpersonal violence and other forms of trauma. I am trained to provide Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to children and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to both children and adults who have survived trauma at any point in their lives. I have also completed the training requirements to become a certified perinatal mental health provider, through Postpartum Support International (PSI), to help individuals managing perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. My approach is person centered and holistic, as I believe every person presents with their own unique experiences and therefore one style or modality will not necessarily be helpful for all.
